I remedy this by increasing the size of the Arabic text to make it look more balanced with the English text. But this adds extra work and it doesn't seem like a reasonable thing to ask people to continually do.
I did notice, though, that there are some fonts in which the Arabic is similar to the English in size.
I did an experiment to see what fonts are closer together in size. What I found was that only the Courier font in Arabic has a size similar to the English font.
Courier however is not a suitable font for writing articles. It is neither modern nor legible.
It is perhaps something that needs to be adjusted by tech companies like Microsoft and organizations for Web standards such as the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and the Unicode Consortium.
I would be interested to know how other people deal with the issue of Arabic and English font size imbalance.
